Overall Responsibility:

The Project Manager is the source of all project information, past and present. This individual has the authority to use resources within an organization for completion of a given project. The Project Manager is the representative to the citizenry, elected officials, executive management, and other public stakeholders of the project. The Project Manager must alert management to risks, to scope, schedule, budget, fiscal year, and controversy.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Strong individual contributor to the success of their projects by effectively utilizing project management principals and processes (for GDOT projects this references the PDP and LAP, internal GDOT workings, procurement, financials) to achieve compliant metrics, including on-time delivery.
Responsive to client requests for information.
Understands how to manage a team of interdisciplinary members advantageously to strengthen relationships with clients, stakeholders, and teammates.
Provides timely and accurate reports on their projects verbally and in writing. Effectively leads team meetings, with support, and escalates project issues.
Can successfully prioritize tasks and requests to meet both internal and external needs, with support.
Possesses a working knowledge of the P6 schedule, including Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and GDOT-specific schedule templates.
Understands PSR’s and PFR’s.
Demonstrates the ability to ask questions and learn from mistakes and experiences.
Shows increasing independence from supervisor oversight.
Demonstrates a collaborative partnership with their PMA for quality submittals and delegates tasks for mutual benefit.
Able to manage 10 – 15 projects effectively, with support.
Displays leadership and stewardship in their role.
Proficient communicator both internally and externally to contribute the achievement of overall program goals and strategic outcomes.
