Overall Responsibility:

A Civil Engineer 2 supports the project's PM and team through efficient plan production. Must
be self-motivated individual that works well independently in a team-oriented environment.
Must be able to make independent & design decisions

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1. Proficiency in developing more complex grading and drainage plans.
2. Firm understanding of hydrology and watershed management.
3. Proficient at phased ESPC plans & BMP design.
4. A firm understanding of SEI AutoCAD standards.
5. Set up drawings per SEI standards.
6. Ability to quickly grasp and apply new design procedures/ordinances.
7. Utility design proficiency (water, sewer).
8. Proficient at design of basic transportation improvements in support of civil
engineering projects. Basic transportation improvements include widenings, entrances,
turn lanes, accel/decel lanes, pedestrian facilities, etc.
9. Efficiently generate profiles in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
10. Design of complex wastewater systems (Lift Stations, etc).
11. Permitting experience and knowledge of local state and county laws.
12. Basic surveying knowledge and ability to interpret and evaluate the quality of survey
data and documentation.
13. Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates.
14. Excellent communications and relationship building skills.
15. Additional duties as assigned.

Experience, Proficiencies, Skills and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year
college or university.
• Minimum 4 year of related study and design experience.
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) in Georgia required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia preferred.
• Firm understanding of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Stormsewer, Hec-1, Hec-2.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Adobe/PDF Exchange.
• Must possess current, valid driver’s license and Social Security Card or other
documentation for E-Verify. EOE.
